London was everything I hoped for and more—vibrant, historic, full of character, and filled with unforgettable food. After spending the summer studying abroad there, I walked away not only with new knowledge about sustainability and culture, but also with some incredible memories from the places, markets, and meals that made the experience so special. I thought I’d wrap up my London blog series with something a little more personal: my favorite spots, eats, and adventures.
Let’s start with the food—because let’s be honest, it was one of the best parts. Borough Market was a must-visit for its variety of fresh, local eats. The famous chocolate-covered strawberries were amazing, and I still think about them! For something heartier, Dishoom served the best samosas and chicken tikka masala I’ve ever had—spicy, comforting, and packed with flavor. I also loved the fast-casual vibe at Nando’s (the chicken lived up to the hype), and for a bit of elegance, afternoon tea at Harrods was a total bucket list moment. And I can't forget La Cucina di Daffy 2—home of the best risotto and Italian food I’ve tasted. Each meal felt like a window into a different culture, reminding me how food connects people everywhere.
Beyond the bites, London’s landmarks and events brought history and excitement to life. Seeing Big Ben up close was surreal, and walking across Tower Bridge made me appreciate the architecture and energy of the city. Portobello Market was a fun, colorful place to wander, full of vintage treasures and lively conversation. And attending Wimbledon? An amazing experience. The atmosphere, the tradition, and the strawberries and cream—it was a perfect blend of sport and British culture.
While this post is more on the fun side, my time in London reminded me how refreshing it is to explore new places, try different foods, and just enjoy the moment. From afternoon tea to wandering through markets, every experience added something special to my summer. I came back with a full heart, a full camera roll, and definitely a full stomach!
